Pub Talk Re-Cap: Conservation Banks in the N. Fork Poudre Watershed
On Wednesday, May 8th, SCT members and folks from the Livermore community gathered at The Forks Mercantile and Saloon, in Livermore, CO, to learn about the Conservation Bank that has been established in our watershed for the Preble’s Meadow Jumping Mouse (PMJM). This conservation bank, which differs from a wetland bank, will pay landowners to restore and conserve riparian areas below 7,600 feet in elevation for PMJM.
New Conservation Bank Pays Landowners to Protect Riparian Areas
Building on the success of the Table Top Conservation Bank, Conservation Investment Management (CIM) is developing a new project around Livermore. This new conservation bank pays individual landowners to protect areas along rivers and creeks where the Preble’s meadow jumping mouse lives.
10 Years of Monitoring to Begin in Summer 2024
As tasked by the Preble’s mouse Recovery Plan (USFWS 2018), 10 years of Preble’s mouse population status and trends monitoring will begin in Summer 2024.

News from Halligan Reservoir & North Fork of the Poudre River was the topic of the first Pub Talk hosted at The Forks Mercantile and Saloon on August 9th, 2023. Darren Parkin, Halligan Water Supply Project Manager for the City of Fort Collins Utility, gave a presentation on the Proposed Halligan Reservoir Expansion and Effects on the River.
N. Fork Poudre SCT Hosts 2nd Watershed Tour & Open House
The SCT hosted a second healthy watershed community event on September 10th, 2022. Thirty-eight community members, land management agency and conservation organization representatives participated in the event.
